A marathon weekend has several parts: arrival, bib collection, getting to the start and returning to your accommodation. Planning them together helps runners and accompanying visitors organise a stay with room to enjoy Marrakech too.

Race date, start and bib collection

The race website announces the 37th edition for Sunday 31 January 2027, with the marathon starting at 7.45 am on Avenue de la Ménara, behind the Sofitel. Bib collection is listed at Koutoubia square on 29 and 30 January, from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm. Check your registration instructions before travelling.

Our suggestion for planning the weekend

On Friday or Saturday, set aside a slot for bib collection and keep the rest of the day light according to your own preparation routine. On Sunday, plan travel to the start separately from the journey back after the race. That gives you a defined morning pick-up and a more flexible return arrangement.

Before the race, agree how to contact your driver and an accessible meeting point. Traffic arrangements may change during an event, so the return location should reflect announced access and where you’ll meet accompanying visitors.

A stay for runners and their companions

Your group may not all follow the same schedule. Tell us who is running and who is accompanying them, along with each journey’s requirements. A Koutoubia walk or garden visit can fit another part of the stay. Choose a separate day for Agafay so the outing has its own space beyond the race schedule.

Your own weekend timings matter as much as the locations: flight arrival, bib collection, meeting companions and leaving Marrakech. Bring them into one shared plan so transport does not have to be reorganised at the last moment.

Private transport for your race weekend

Monarch arranges airport transfers, travel for bib collection and race-day journeys. Send your accommodation address, passenger numbers and known timings. We’ll suggest a vehicle and return arrangements; race registration is handled through the organiser.
