El Badi invites you to imagine a palace through its surviving remains. Its open spaces create a different experience from Bahia: perspectives and scale take centre stage. It suits visitors who enjoy places where architecture and sky share the view.

What you’ll find among the remains

Marrakech’s official guide describes a large esplanade with pools and orange trees enclosed by high walls, where storks nest. The setting has a landscape appeal as well as an architectural one: a pool, a wall or a tree can frame a different view.

El Badi and Bahia: choosing the contrast

Bahia draws attention to materials and decoration; El Badi to the scale of its remains and open spaces. For a palace-focused day, our suggestion is to make one the main visit and choose the other for contrast. For a shorter outing, El Badi also works on its own, followed by a break.

Planning a visit with outdoor spaces

Consider the sun and walking comfort when choosing your visit time. Water, sun protection and comfortable shoes make the outing easier. With children or a group, allow for a break before moving on to another monument.

Check official information for admission and the areas open on your visit date. A guide can add context if you want to understand the remains in more detail. If visiting independently, leave room in your plan to enjoy the perspectives and explore without rushing.

Arrange your day with Monarch

Request a transfer to El Badi or a day with several visits, and send us your itinerary and accommodation address. We arrange journeys and return pick-up times. Specify whether you need transport alone or would also like a guide and admission tickets.
